The SVP group do daily deliveries of food & supplies to Foodbanks and homeless shelters, as well as to drop in centres for asylum seekers & refugees. Due to the current situation, our Foodbanks have been struggling to meet demand for the most deprived areas of Birmingham, and there has been an increase in the numbers of local individuals and families needing support. Therefore, the St George & St Teresa SVP Foodbank Support Group was established in April 2020, in order to help meet these additional needs.

The group needs urgent donations of food, cleaning products, toiletries and baby products on a large scale. Cash donations or cheques (payable to St George & St Teresa SVP) are also greatly received & will be used directly to support the needy. Donations can be dropped off throughout the week at local addresses (see attached Volunteers list), as well as Vernon James Butchers Bentley Heath, Palmers School Uniform shop on Knowle High Street & Tesco Balsall Common, for the Foodbank team to collect, sort & distribute.

You can also arrange to have your donation collected by contacting Angela Robinson on 07711 579540. If you’d like to get involved, or volunteer to help in any way, please call Cathy Grimley (Coordinating) on 07758 447355.
